Calling all elementary age and below artists! We have an exciting opportunity to
showcase your artwork. This summer, the art for the bulletin will be created by
our own children in the congregation. The art will even be printed in color. We
need all art work completed and submitted to the church office no later than
Memorial Day. Each week has a theme and you can view the themes and sign up for
a week by using the link below:
Please contact Katherine Ortiz (email@example.com) or Jackie Chuter (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Vicar Kwame (email@example.com) with questions.
Thanks for your participation!
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT: Gimme Your Shoes !!
You still have time to help with a project benefiting Drive-A-Senior (formerly
known as Faith In Action). We are asking that you donate your old shoes.
Collection will continue through June 30. Look for a marked collection box under
the large bulletin board in the hall. We accept all types of shoes, male or
female, sneakers or high heels. This unique fundraising program provides
Drive-A-Senior with a sum of money based on the number of shoes collected; so
please donate as many shoes as possible.
The program known as Funds2org.com and Soles4Souls contracts with established
micro-enterprise distributors to transport and distribute used shoes to Central
America, South America, and Africa. Look for more description in the June Echoes newsletter.
For additional information on giving contact Pat Thomas at (512) 441-1485.

GET READY FOR CREATION SUNDAY
June 29, 2014
On Sunday, June 29 (and again on Sunday July 27) First English will celebrate
God’s gift of creation at the 9:45 am worship service. All worshipers are
invited to bring symbols and signs of creation from your home or neighborhood:
Rocks, dirt, flowers, grasses, sea shells, branches, water, vegetables, fruits
or anything that is a sign of creation. You could also bring photographs of
creation from your area or from a trip. All items can be blessed and offered at
a Creation Station during the worship service. As we are sent from worship, we
will ask God’s blessing on the outdoor spaces of the First English campus.
