Beginning on January 11, Pastor Coffey will lead a new adult class on
Sunday mornings called “Animate: Faith Practices.” It will explore the core
practices of Christian faith and life: Prayer, Food, Worship, Sacraments,
Money, Service, Community. Using DVD presentations and discussion, we will

Children, Youth and Family Ministries
Hello Epiphany! Time to take down all the Christmas decorations. As I
expected, the seasons of Advent and Christmas have flown by. I would like
to thank everyone for all the help during the month of December. We had a
great Advent Workshop, a good introduction to Godly Play, and a wonderful
Christmas Eve service. We are blessed.
January 11 Spark Rotation resumes at 9:45 am. We’ll continue to explore
Epiphany and the mysterious Magi with a special session focused on King
Herod and the Wise Ones. All grades will meet and stay in the library for
this workshop. Thanks to Betsy Appleton, Ruth Gray, and Teresa Tice-Boggs
for leading this session. And we have the Baptism of baby Max Archer at the
11 am service! I hope all the children can gather around the Baptismal font
to see and hear as we welcome Max into the household of God.
High School Youth Sarah Roberts, Jimmy Wright, and several of our youth
will be at our synod youth gathering January 9-11th at Camp Chrysalis.
Alley Schlandt will be leading a fundraiser for our trip to the ELCA Youth
Gathering next summer in Detroit. We’ll be selling bags of mulch each
Sunday after the 11 am service, throughout the coming months. These are
large, heavy bags which you can take home with you or order for delivery.
We hope to make deliveries once per month. We are asking $10 for each bag
and a $10 delivery fee. And we really appreciate your support!
O God, by the leading of a star you manifested your only Son to the peoples
of the earth: Lead us, who know you now by faith, to your presence, where
we may see your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen. The Book of Common Prayer.
