CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY
Our children are becoming more aware of why we slow down, use calmer voices, and treat others and things with reverence in our church. We’ve made a lot of progress over the last few months and I’m very happy. We’ve got kids who are engaged and wanting to go to a deeper spiritual level.
This is a visible sign that God is at work in their lives. We are setting a great environment for God to do God’s work. None of us are perfect and we all face days that are more challenging than others. And that’s okay. We simply refocus and try again. I want to thank you for helping prepare your children to worship, learn, and experience God here at FELC.–Mr. Jimmy
Sunday, February 22nd Spark Rotation will hold a very special workshop on the meaning of Lent. Our kids will experience a children’s station of the cross and go home with a family, Lent in a Bag, present. Your children don’t want to miss this one.
Godly Play returns on Sunday during the children’s gathering time of the 11am service. Children will experience the Parable of the Great Pearl which centers on the merchant and the great pearl from Mathew’s gospel. Upon returning to the nave, the children will have the option of sitting with Mr. Jimmy in a soft space in the north transept (parents are welcome to join us) or returning to their families in the pews.
February 22nd is our service/outreach project for the Micah 6 youth drop-in center. All youth need to meet at FELC at 2:30pm to prepare and cook the meal. We’ll then take it to the center and help serve at 4pm.
