Advent Workshop for EVERYONE!!!
Sunday, December 7 at 9:45 in the Fellowship Hall

This year’s Advent Workshop is designed for participation by EVERYONE.
Young, old or somewhere in-between, this multigenerational event is one you don’t want to miss.

This year’s workshop will include some of our traditional favorites. And we’ll have a few new twists!

Everyone is encouraged to bring a package of adult size tube socks, white or black. These will go to Trinity Center, serving the homeless in downtown Austin.

Please bring any unused holiday cards. We’ll join with the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service project to write and distribute holiday cards to the 1,700 women and children being held in family immigration detention facilities.

There will be live music and caroling. Advent devotional table cards.
Pastries and wassail. Cookie decorating and hot coffee. “Not so traditional” Advent wreath making. Take-home crafts and Advent calendars. We’ll even have a Nativity Photo Booth complete with costumes for the children.

Hello first week of Advent. We have several things happening the next two
weeks and I hope that everyone can be in church each Sunday to experience
the Mystery of Advent. Click on the link below for our December issue of
Parenting Christian Kids.

December 7 Advent II
We light two-blue candles. These are the candles of Hope and Love.

Advent Workshop takes place in the fellowship hall at 9:45 am. There will
be some “not so traditional” Advent wreath making, table devotionals,
take-home crafts, cookie decorating, music, caroling, delicious treats, and
a photo booth with Nativity costumes. Please bring a package of adult size
tube socks, white or black. These will go to Trinity Center, serving the
homeless in downtown Austin.

Godly Play continues during the children’s gathering time at the 11 am service. This week, our children’s liturgy helps to prepare us for the great Mystery of Christmas. We’ll experience the story of the Prophets and the Holy Family, as we journey towards Bethlehem.

December 14 Advent III
We light two-blue candles and one rose (or pink) candle. These are the candles of Hope, Love, and Joy. The traditional rose or pink candle is lit on Gaudette (meaning rejoice) Sunday.

Rehearsal for the children’s Christmas Eve service takes place in the nave at 9:45 am.
