Weekly Update – August 12

Companion Café Planning Meeting
Sunday, August 16 at 11:00 AM in the Parlor
Anyone interested in making the Companion Café a great success this fall should attend this meeting with Pastor Coffey. We’ll be looking at the volunteer needs for cooking, setup, serving, and cleanup, and two new volunteer positions: Volunteer Coordinator, and Café Supplies Shopper.

studentsChildren’s formation (aka Sunday school) is in desperate need of teachers.

We use a unique curriculum that allows teachers to work with the same story for several weeks. Workshops include art, cooking, games, computers, music, science, drama, and video. This allows our children to use all of the multiple learning styles and experience the story in various ways. Teachers can sign up to lead these workshops from 1-3 weeks in a row. We need storytellers, workshop leaders, assistant leaders, and snack providers.

Parent Meeting on Sunday August 30th immediately following the 9:45am service in the parlor. This is a very important meeting so please make plans to join us. Childcare will be provided. If you cannot make this meeting, please contact Jimmy Wright to schedule an appointment. formation@felcaustin.org

Minecraft Bible Study will hear a story about a dream that King Solomon had where God told him to ask for anything he wants. We’ll see if God answers the young king’s wish (1 Kings 3, 10). Don’t forget to bring your tablet or laptop. Dear God, help us to be wise and make good decisions.

Families after the parent meeting we’ll head over to Barton Springs for a family swim day from 1-4 pm. All family members and friends are welcome to join us. This will be a great opportunity for you to invite friends with children to come and experience the excellent family ministry we have at FELC.
