As we are in the Eastertide season, and Vicar Kwame begins her pastoral duties, she needs Ushers on Sunday mornings, especially during the 11:00 am services (with a reminder that starting May 25 we will be going to 9:45 am services) for the next three months.
Sundays: May 4, May 11, and May 18. If you would like to volunteer for either the 8:30 or 11 am services for the next three Sundays please contact either Vicar Kwame or Ele in the office and let us know. If you would serve as an Usher but have not had any training, please contact Vicar Kwame: firstname.lastname@example.org and she will point you in the right direction. God’s Peace!
ADULT EDUCATION LED BY TRAVIS GOULD
Nonviolent Communication, An Exploration
Sunday, May 4 & 11 at 9:45 am in the Parlor
“What I want in my life is compassion, a flow between myself and others based on
a mutual giving from the heart.”— Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD
Marshall Rosenberg operates from the assumption that our natural disposition as
humans is compassion. His method for uncovering this natural compassion is
centered on human language. How do we communicate? What words do we use to
communicate and how do these words foster compassion or, conversely, violence?
We will explore this approach to nonviolent communication in our adult education
If you are interested in exploring this topic ahead of time, you can read
through Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall Rosenberg. You
can also talk with me because it’s a subject for which I have much enthusiasm. I
look forward to exploring nonviolent communication with you soon.
